Chloroacetate staining of the bone marrow revealed that 14% of the blasts were positive for this marker of neutrophils (primarily) and monocytes (less frequently). Cells identified as monocytes and neutophils by morphologic features were variably positive (i.e. positive or negative) (100x objective)
