The clusters of epithelial cells (orange arrow) have defined cell borders with a blue-gray cytoplasm and moderate N:C ratio. The nuclei are round to oval with stippled chromatin and 1-3 indistinct nucleoli. Fading nuclei and necrotic material (black arrow) is also noted in the background (Wright’s stain, 50x objective).
