Bone marrow in a cat: There is a central aggregate of macrophages (indicated by arrows)l indicating a histiocytic inflammation. The macrophages have non-staining slender bacterial rods, compatible with Mycobacteria. Since this organism causes granuloma formation, the inflammation can also be called granulomatous (Wright’s stain, 50x objective).
