An intracytoplasmic blue inclusion is present within the neutrophil (arrow). The “grape-like” appearance is compatible with Anaplasma) or Ehrlichica infection, with the former confirmed by DNA testing (modified Wright’s stain, 50x objective). Note the scale bar is incorrect and should read 40 um.
