Endocrine cells

The tumor cells are round to cuboidal with indistinct boundaries and are forming packets with bare or naked nuclei on the edges. This is an aspirate from an aprocrine gland anal sac adenocarcinoma, which is typically an aggressive metastatic tumor in dogs. Note the characteristic bland or uniform cytologic features of this tumor (Wright’s stain, 100x objective).
