This higher power view of a tracheal wash from a normal horse contains thick strands of mucus (arrows) with moderate macrophages. A few small lymphocytes are seen as well. Macrophages are lightly vacuolated. There were <10% neutrophils and few erythrocytes. Modified Wright's stain.
