Figure 9: Bone marrow section from a horse with acute leukemia

The bone marrow is hypercellular with only small amounts of fat. Megakaryocytes are not obvious from this magnification, supporting a megakaryocytic hypoplasia. There is some evidence of bone remodeling with reversal lines in the spicules and slightly irregular spicule edges (Hematoxylin & Eosin, 10x objective).
