On low magnification of the kidney, we can appreciate how the neoplasm (dark yellow arrow) infiltrated and expanded the renal capsule and surrounded the kidney. It is presumed that the tumor seeded in the kidney vessels causing ischemia and coagulative necrosis of the kidney. The black arrow also points to a probable necrosed, but structurally intact glomerulus (H&E, 10x objective)
