Cytocentrifuged preparation of cerebrospinal fluid from a cat. A cryptococcal organism is designated by the black arrow, as compared to a nearby small lymphocyte (black arrowhead). Neutrophils (N) were the predominant inflammatory cell type present. The presence of platelets (*) and absence of erythrophagia or other evidence of hemorrhage support that the blood in the sample is tap-related.
