Blasts in blood from a cat with AML

Blasts cat

Two blasts in a venous blood smear from a cat with acute myeloid leukemia (not categorized further). Blasts in cats can be smaller than that seen in dogs – their nuclei are around the size of neutrophils or just larger, whereas blasts in dogs with AML frequently have nuclei that are larger than neutrophils (Wright’s stain).
