Aspirate from a bone marrow in a horse with AML

AML in a horse

In this aspirate from a bone marrow of a horse with pancytopenia and low numbers of circulating blasts, there are >80% blasts, showing features of myeloid cells including variable size and increased amounts of light blue cytoplasm (in some but not all of the cells, Wright’s stain, 100x objective). For more images from this horse, check out the acute leukemia album under the bone marrow atlas.
