Small lymphocytes dominate with fewer non-degenerate neutrophils and rare eosinophils. Several large lymphocytes are seen, one of which has distinct red cytoplasmic granules (granular lymphocyte, arrow). A macrophage with distended vacuolated cytoplasm with a phagocytized erythrocyte indicates prior hemorrhage (arrowhead).
