Mycoplasma hemofelis organisms on red blood cells in a cat are found as linear small bacteria on the edges of the red blood cell membrane (arrows), often indenting the surface of the membrane) and ring forms on top of the red blood cells (arrowhead). The cat had a concurrent inflammatory leukogram with a left shift and toxic change (modified Wright stain).
