Fig3A_Sept2015

The cell indicated by the arrow is a dysplastic megakaryocyte. It has a markedly hyperlobulated nucleus (almost appearing as if there are separate nuclei, although thin stands can be seen between nuclear lobes) and is displaying nuclear to cytoplasmic asynchrony (mature nucleus in a deeper blue, more immature cytoplasm, than normal). Wright’s stain, 500x.
