The long arrow identifies an abnormal mitotic figure. The short arrows indicate various immature and more mature (center cell) dysplastic megekaryocyte. A large disrupted megakaryocyte lies between these more obvious megakaryocytes. Note the numerous blasts in the background, some of which are erythrophagocytic. Some blasts have slightly irregular to ruffled cytoplasmic borders and low numbers of clear punctate cytoplasmic vacuoles, features that can be seen in neoplastic megakaryocytes (Wright’s stain, 50x objective).
